This morning was more productive. When I’m done with NaNoWriMo for this year, I’d like to maintain a goal of writing at least 1,000 words a day. It seems to be doable for the hour that I tend to give myself to write (after waking up and making coffee and letting the dogs out). It could be an hour and a half if I actually got up at 5:00, but sometimes I have to lie in bed for a few moments to convince myself to get up–especially at this time of the year when I’m all warm and the house is cold.
Today’s count was 1,015. To be on track tomorrow, I need to hit 30,000 words. My current count is as 25,470 (though if you count the 4,500 words or so that I did for that little rewrite, it’m actually at 30,000 words or so for the month).
Last weekend, Sophie thought it would be a great idea to eat one end of my Bluetooth headphones. I suppose the way it was dangling over the side of the table was too irresistible to her. (Don’t worry, she’s okay. I’m not sure how we haven’t had to take her to the E.R. or anything yet, but I’m not asking or complaining.) So, I’m finding it’s definitely much easier to get my creative juices going when I’m listening to music. I suspect that was part of my issue yesterday (other than just being distracted in general). I’ll have to actually put in my hearing aids and use my Bluetooth adapter with my phone until I find another set of headphones that I can leave in my room, on my desk, out of Sophie’s reach.
I’m happy to report Pandora has a Warduna station, by the way. It’s definitely a help with getting the blood going and getting in a Viking frame of mind! Oh, and I started a book for my reading challenge last night. Hopefully I’ll finish it sometime this weekend and I can break up all these NaNoWriMo posts with an actual Lit post.
